Book Review – The Jewel of Kamara

The Jewel of Kamara by Bridie Blake

It is always a bit of a struggle to find a pleasant or even intriguing fantasy novel, but I was blessed to have found a very entertaining and well-formed book from Bridie Blake.
Tempani of Amarill is the main character and a very strong, self-sufficient one at that. I found her enduring spirit a nice change and felt that she stayed true to her character profile throughout the story.
She is a half-breed and is on the receiving end of a lot of hate and contempt and she is forced to enter and live in royal circles. She dreams of the two races of Kamara being joined as a free and accepting people, but her dream seems like an impossibility. A prophecy is revealed and the magic that she was born with is more powerful than she imagined. Nic, the prince of Kamara, has fallen madly in love with Tempani, but will this be enough to clear all the obstacles? Tempani is faced with seemingly insurmountable obstacles and difficult decisions, time will tell if she is making the right choices for not only herself, but the future of Kamara.
This is a book filled with adventure, fast-paced action, friendships, intrigue and a relateable characters.

Bridie did a fine job crafting a new world, multifaceted characters and exciting scenarios.
Looking forward to reading more from this author.
