Book Review – Sanctuary (Dominion Book 1)

Sanctuary Book 1 of Dominion by Kris Kramer

In the time of terrifying Viking invasions, one man, Daniel, believes he witnesses a miracle from God. Beginning in a small town called Ragwollow, an amazing warrior, Arkael, turns up at the last moment, seemingly sent from God to answer Daniel’s prayers of deliverance. Daniel leaves all he knows behind to follow this man all across Britain, believing that somehow he holds the answer to the questions that have made Daniel an undecided, ‘weak’ man. His journey takes him on a terrifying, unbelievable adventure that will test the very fabric of his faith and life. In his journeys he finds his purpose, he realizes the cost of friendship and he loses someone dear to him. He meets a strange woman with powerful, dark abilities that are twisted and used for wicked purposes by an evil wizard. A huge battle of good and evil will determine the fate of so many and Daniel is stuck right on the front lines.

This is a brilliantly, skillfully written historical fiction/fantasy book that I could hardly put down. I finished reading it in two days and eagerly waiting to read the next one. This author has the ability to really capture the readers’ attention and hold it for the duration of the book. There are a few typos, but they did not detract from the mystery and epic fights between good and evil. The characters are relatable and the dialogue is smooth and natural. Looking out for Book 2 of Dominion.

Four stars for this engrossing read ****

Shamira, what do you think is up with Pepin? I have a feeling that there is something more to him!

    • Shamira says:

Definitely Erin! I’m sure there has to be something else there, he just seems a bit too smooth and has certain skills that don’w quite fit his background. 🙂 can’t wait for the next book!

      • Erin Eymard says:

I completely agree! I have a feeling he isn’t so much of a good guy. Of course, I have tons of speculation but I’d give away some plot points to readers! 🙂 Can’t wait for the next book either!
