My World Wakes

There is a whisper at dawn

The first echoes across the savannah

There is a small sigh as the day breaks

There in the woodland, beneath the coral trees

A flash of colours, blending of bodies

Nothing more than leaves and shadows

Secrets on the breeze, filling my soul

Touch and sparkle, cinnamon light

It smells like freedom, it smells like home

Like the first day of spring, like the blessed day of summer

Like the comfort found in winter, like the living amber of fall

So many tomorrows, not enough todays

Memories of yesterday stored like treasures

Dawn has come upon the savannah

Far beyond the borders of reality my world wakes
