Bunch of Roses

I was talking to someone the other day about how the act of ‘flower-giving’ has almost gone out of fashion. My dad often buys my mom flowers, but I don’t really see it much anywhere else. The person I was talking to told me they don’t like guys bringing them flowers because it is a way of telling a woman she is ‘weak and feminine’. Yes.. HELLO, we are woman! We needn’t be weak if we are feminine – but we can make the most of it. Women are unique, we are able to be more than one thing at a time, we can be gentle but strong, girly but no-nonsense and it is definitely not a sign of weakness if we accept some beautiful flowers.

This is really sad that guys are actually being ‘attacked’ for giving flowers. Seriously, we are cutting our own throats – we want guys to act like gentlemen, but is seems, only when it suits us. How are they supposed to know when we want to be treated like ‘equals’ or when we want to be treated like Victorian ladies and be pampered?

I don’t care what people say – there is hardly anything as sweet as a guy giving you a bunch of flowers. What a lovely feeling when he remembers and brings you some of your favourites or some beautiful ones that he carefully chose especially for you. Those red carnation and baby’s breath bouquets are hideous, but at least he is on the right track – just needs some training. 🙂

It is so cute seeing a shy guy carrying a bunch of flowers around in a shop, and seeing him carefully choosing. 🙂 Whenever people say choose between chocolates and flowers – definitely flowers.
