Today it poured for the first time in weeks – it was so refreshing and beautiful. It started as a whisper, just the scent of rain in the air, and suddenly a few drops became a curtain of fresh cold water. The galahs were fluttering about, hanging upside down and screaming – they too know how to celebrate the rain.
When the rain is pouring down, and you sit quietly and listen – in your soul you can hear the earth singing and when all is quiet, wet and new, the deep contented humming continues. All nature is glad when the heat and dryness is replaced with cool relief.
It is a time of cleansing, to feel the cool drops running through your hair and over your face and dripping off your eyelashes, it feels as if somehow the rain is washing some of the burden of humanity away. This also becomes a moment in time when magic things might happen, singing at the top of your lungs with no worry of embarrassment, dancing in puddles, and a myriad of other things.
When it rains – don’t watch if through the window, go out and join in the dance and celebrations.
