Stranded

A few months ago I tried my hand at sand sculpture, and enjoyed it quite a lot. I formed a mermaid lying face down and gave her seaweed hair, pink shell jewellery and cuttlefish spines. I was so proud of her… but just then a crazy little Jack-Russell had to charge past, gouging a deep hole in her tail. Then, I got an idea. Taking some cuttlefish skeleton shards, I stuck them in ‘her’ tail to look like splintered bone and formed a ‘sand shark’ beside her. This is a sad end for a mermaid, but thanks to that mad little Jack-Russell a normal sand structure became a story.
