This lil critter should be illegal it is so cute – just one look at the little face and you imagine a story book dedicated just to them. The Pygmy seahorse, also known as Bargibanti’s Seahorse (Hippocampus Bargibanti) is a seahorse found in the western central Pacific Ocean. It is extremely tiny – less than 2cm in size and very hard to spot. Because they camouflage so well, the species wasn’t discovered until its host corals were examined in a laboratory. Adults are often in pairs or clusters of pairs with up to 28 seahorses on a single gorgonian, and may be monogamous. I can’t get over it – they are just too cute!
